Qualifications: BSc in SLT (University of professional education Utrecht) and MSc in clinical epidemiology (University of Amsterdam)
Clinical experience and interests: Clinician in several hospitals with main focus on neurology and oncology. Lecturer in post graduate courses on oropharyngeal dysphagia in adults and speech-language therapy in Parkinson’s disease, in the Netherlands and abroad. Fundamental and clinical research focussing on the pathophysiology, assessment and treatment of dysphagia and drooling in Parkinson’s disease.
Other relevant posts held: Formerly board member of NVLF with responsibility for quality management of the profession. Involved in development of several national clinical guidelines. First author of Dutch SLT guideline for Parkinson’s disease (2008). |
