Maria Vlassopoulos
Delegate for PAL, the Greek SLT Association, since 2007. Member of EU day WG in Commission for Professional Practice 2007-2010; Member of WG for CPLOL Structure and Functioning 2010-2011; Vice-president for Education 2011.
Current employment: Senior lecturer in Language and Communication Pathology at the University of Athens Medical School. Responsible for the Early Intervention Unit at the 1st Psychiatric Department, University of Athens. Member of interdisciplinary clinical team at the Child and Adolescent Unit of the Community Mental Health Centre Byron-Kessariani since 1984. Lecturer in postgraduate SLT course in University of Athens.
Qualifications: B.Sc. Speech Pathology and Audiology, Hayward University, California State; Ph.D. in Clinical Communication Studies, City University, London UK.
Clinical and research experience: Primary clinical concerns are early language disorders, specific and pervasive developmental disorders, as well as multilingual populations. Recent research interests focus on longitudinal outcomes of language disorders in adult populations.
Other activities: Founding member of PAL. Member of Prevention Committee (PAL). Responsible for organization of EU day events in Greece since 2008. Member of organizing and scientific committees in national Congresses. |
