• Private practise, and independent partnerships

• Charities

Education/Training

• Undergraduate degrees (3 years and 4 years)

• Postgraduate diplomas and degrees (2 years)

• All postgraduate students must have a first degree of a minimum of 3 years duration.

License

All speech and language therapists must be registered with the Health
Professions Council in order to practise in the UK.

Recognition of professional qualifications obtained abroad

Yes, if they are similar in length, level, and content to our own.

All international applicants are considered individually and must apply to the
Health Professions Council for registration.

EU applicants whose education differs from ours, may be given an adaptation period working in the UK.

English language proficiency is essential, and is at Grade 8 on the IELTs
test, with no section below 7.5.

The professional salary

Salary ranges from £17,000 to £42,000, thereafter there are higher salaries
but these would have a substantial management component to the post.
